What should I check/change on a diesel truck with 134k miles?

I just bought a 92 Ford F350 7.3L diesel truck with 134k miles and 5th wheel RV as a combo package. I want to make sure the truck is well maintained and serviced. What should I do? I've been told to add something to the fuel to remove any water and change filters, but I'm not sure what the filters are on a diesel. It's my first diesel truck. Towing the 5th wheel, it can't maintain 65 uphill, The 5th wheel weighs about 9,000 lbs. I was told by the owner that was normal. Just curious to find out if that is correct.

The 92 7.3L is NOT a power stroke it is a naturally aspirated engine (NO TURBO). These engines used a mechanical lift pump on the side of the block which when they went bad would begin seeping and have trouble providing full fuel pressure and volume to the injection pump. Visually inspect the lift pump for leaks. The fuel filter is located just above the lift pump and has a water trap on the bottom of it, the water trap should be drained every oil change or when the light on the dash comes on. DO NOT add a drying agent to your fuel, the fuel these trucks are now running is much to dry for it already, this is due to goverment mandated changes to the fuel (removing sulphur) 99% of the sulphur has been removed from the fuel that these were designed to run on resulting in a fuel with almost no lubrication in it which can cause sticking or seized injectors excessive wear on the injection ppump and seizing of the accelerator piston on the side of the injection pump (beginning to see where your lack of power is coming from?) Stanadyne who designed and built this injection system has a diesel fuel lubricant that you add several ounces to each tank of fuel you burn to provide proper lubrication for the injection system (Stanadyne part # 29409) buy and use as directed...after a tank of fuel with the additive your injectors and pump should be working properly, if not book it in for diagnosis. Most of these diesels could hold 65 pulling a load on a reasonable grade, however if you have a high speed rear diff it could be normal to lose on a grade. Keep the air filter clean (vital to a diesel). Diesels are very hard on the coolant, pick up some Ph test strips and check the antifreeze every oil change, when it turns acidic add a bottle of Diesel Coolant Additive from your dealer, the second time your coolant turns acidic flush the system and replace the coolant, failing to do this will leave you circulating an acid and flowing acid in metal builds an electric charge which will discharge against the cylinder liners, water pump, heater core and rad causing leaks and pin holes (this is known to Diesel techs as elctrolysis caused failure).
