Is a 7.5' skateboard deck suitable for size 10 (UK) feet?
After getting a new 7.5 skateboard deck, with my size 10 *UK size* feet, I feel like maybe it is a bit small for my feet size, I know you are meant to go with whatever feels right, but it feels like my feet over hang the board a lot, which strains my feet and causes other problems
As a rule of thumb, is this deck size generally reccomended for feet of my size or would I need a bigger deck anyway?
Theres nothing wrong with a 7.5 for you but personally rule of thumb for your shoe size would be around 7.75- 8 even... BUT!!!!
No one can tell you what size you are. If you feel like its maybe a bit small than you answered your own question, its too small.
How I usually explain it to my customers is... The skinnier the board, the easier its going to be to flip and get techy with, but the less board there will be under your feet to catch these tricks. The bigger the board, its going to take a little more effort to flip and what not, but theres going to be alot more surface area to catch the board under your feet...
I am a perfect example of defying the rule of thumb. Ive been in the game for almost a decade and with a size 5 (UK) recently jumped on an 8 board, and having been riding 7.5's only for almost 7 years couldn't be happier with my 8. Its all up to you, try an 8 next board you get. if thats too big go to 7.75, if thats too small try 7.82. the only way youll find the perfect one is by experiencing imperfect ones.
