How to gain speed on ramps and when dropping in skateboarding?

I am a fairly decent skater. I can do a few grind and a handful of flip tricks but I have always had a problem. I can pump on halfpipes very well and i can drop in on quarter pipes and 10 foot halfpipes but have always had one problem. I hang with a lot of skateboarders at the skatepark much better than me....like tre fllipping the 6 set first try better than me...whenever they drop in on the quarter pipe and up the pyramids and fairly high ramps, and even on the mini ramp they get a crap load of speed. Even when they drop in on the mini ramp, right after they drop in they have so much speed. What can i do to get more speed when dropping in and going up and down regular ramps and quarter pipes.

If it helps, I have Bone stf#10 55mm wheels, bones labrynth swiss berrings, a 7.62 sean malto girl deck, and Independent Haslam [stage-10] 129mm Low trucks

really its just how your pumping your body, if you can pump a halfpipe then its the exact same as pumping while dropping in, its all in the timing, when to start the pump and release, just experiment with it a little.
